"The Diagnosis" -
What's Ailing Us?
Why the Right of
Gun Ownership is
Important
When the Klan came
after many blacks
during our nation's
more repressive
periods, an
unappreciated story
was the armed
resistance of some
blacks which kept
the Klan at bay. The
Constitution
recognizes the
possibility that
even in the best of
hands, tyranny can
happen and citizens
must resist and have
that right. In NC
where people like to
hunt, guns are
important.
In John Stossel's
January 23, 2004 ABC
television report on
the myths
surrounding firearms
in the United
States, his
interviews of felons
confirmed what the
National Institute
of Justice found --
"Felons say that the
thing they fear most
is not the police,
not time in prison,
but you, another
American who might
be armed." With the
armed streets of our
cities by gangs,
illegal aliens who
are displacing
citizens from their
jobs, big money
being made on
illegal drugs, and
other criminal
activity, unless
someone thinks of
something equally
effective, people
may have to arm
themselves to
protect person, home
and hearth.
I was intrigued by
the website of Jews
For the Preservation
of Firearms
Ownership, Inc. who
oppose concealed
carry permits as a
form of government
control of arms.
They make it clear
that
"government-issued
permits ‘allowing’
people to bear arms
are an infringement
on fundamental
rights.”
You have a right to
defend your life.
That's G-d’s law.
Permits--a revocable
privilege from the
state-- replace
G-d’s law with man's
law."
