"The Exam Room" - The Issue
 Illegal Immigration and Reform

My paternal grandfather came to this country in 1858 as a boy of three on a slave ship from Africa. He later married my paternal grandmother, who was a Seminole Indian. This land that we all love has always welcomed the tired and huddled masses yearning to be free; however, immigration as it is currently done is not right. It is too easy to be illegal and we can't allow those who came here illegally to stay while turning away Haitians and others seeking safe shores. The attempts to assimilate large groups of people necessitates that we find a common bond which must be English as the national language if we are to be bound as "One Nation Under God."

"The Diagnosis" - What's Ailing Us?
 Illegal Immigration

Illegal immigration is the largest threat to our domestic national security from its potential health hazards, related crime and violence of imported gangs, economic instability from depressed wages for other jobs, and social burdens from educational and social services expenditures.

I do not support amnesty or a guest worker program when we have locked up non-violent criminals who could have alternative sentencing for this work.

"The Prescription" - Dr. Fisher's Solution
 Curing Illegal Immigration

  • Preference in government hiring for US citizens
  • All jobs under government contracts must be in compliance with citizenship concerns for their workers. Whistleblowers or those identifying illegal workers hired for government work will receive $1000 and those not in compliance face penalties, loss of further and future eligibility to enter government contracts.
  • ICE/Immigration Customs Enforcement agency will have at least one court in each state.
  • Any person in this country illegally found in violation of the law will be deported.
  • Funding for border security will be realistic and targeted to those areas most at risk.
  • I will lead the battle for a constitutional amendment making English the National Language for all government, public businesses and legal undertakings, as well as overturn Presidential Order 1366. This would mean English Immersion programs in preference to accommodations in languages other than English which is draining budgets and causing much confusion. This would not mean that people could not speak their native languages in their home, private undertakings or other ventures. But this would mean that native-born citizens would not be a prisoner of another language in their own land.

"The Patient File" - Press Release: May 18, 2006
 Fisher Calls Immigration Reform Unfair

Upset by President Bush’s speech Monday May 15th, Dr. Ada M. Fisher is not silent in letting it be known that this plan is an insult to Black Americans as well as states heavily impacted by an influx of illegal laborers.

"The Patient File" - Giving This Country Away
March 20, 2006 Article in North Carolina Conservative

The March 2006 Senate vote to grant a guest worker program to those people illegally in this country without insuring that businesses abide by the law is wrong and racist. McCain, Clinton, Kennedy and others from our state are enablers and have stood silent while we ship the Haitians who come to our shores home without letting their feet touch this valued ground, have not ventured to help the 175,000 Bantu granted amnesty by President Bush relocate to areas where their agrarian skills in crop management could be used right here in our state, or insured that those who work in jobs which people claim Americans don’t want are paid the minimum wage (which then would put them in direct competition with Americans for jobs).
